SPG has had Ambassador service for those members that spend considerable time at SPG affiliated hotels yearly (100+ nights) or spend lots of cash.
Originally, this program was not public and was by invitation only. SPG opened up the Ambassador program and made the 100 night criteria public the other year.
You can access SPG Ambassador website here.
Tell us what you need: Car service in Beijing? Tickets to the hottest show in New York City? Ambassadors are your connections to make it happen. Contact us from anywhere in the world. Anytime is a good time. We’re here to handle all the details — right down to the elevated experience you’ll receive with every stay. We’re your ambassador service, a benefit that rewards you for staying with SPG® 100 nights in a calendar year.
Now, SPG has launched a new website promoting the Ambassador program and related benefitas that certainly looks sleek.
I just had a word with a friend of mine that has been part of the Ambassador program since its invitation only launch and who is not sold on the published benefits that are not uniformly delivered.
Starwood should pay more attention of delivering the benefits promised such as special requests. Shouldn’t be too much of a hassle for hotels to provide some bananas to the guest room, but apparently this had been more of a miss than hit.
