One would think that more than 7 weeks into the current Into The Nights-promotion IHG Rewards Club would have finally got its act together, but apparently no.
Yesterday, several LoyaltyLobby readers forwarded apology emails that they had received from IHG informing that they (IHG) had decided to withdraw some awarded points from member accounts that were deposited due to “clerical” error”.
Here are couple of emails that IHG sent to LoyaltyLobby readers:
One of the readers reported that he had really completed the hurdle and then the points were withdrawn, but it shows it as completed on the Into The Nights tracking site. What a mess!
Maybe it is not the best idea to introduce promotion such as this if the company doesn’t have the IT resources and competence to run them correctly?
I really cannot remember a hotel loyalty promotion that would have had as many issues as this IHG one from changed offers (at least twice) to points that were first awarded and then withdrawn.
