Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) and Emirates are about to launch “Your World Rewards” frequent flier/guest partnership similar to what SPG already has in place with Delta.
Starwood Preferred Guest Gold members will receive one Starpoint per USD spent on Emirates flights and Platinum members will receive additional benefits such as priority check in and boarding. It is unclear what Emirates Gold and Platinum members will get from this partnership.
You can access SPG’s web page for Your World Rewards here (note that it is not yet resolving).
A LoyaltyLobby reader sent me the screenshot above from his SPG Gold web page that shows the benefit on Emirates flights. A FlyerTalk member (read the post here) posted the benefits that he would receive from Emirates for being SPG Platinum.
I would imagine that once this program is launched the Emirates Gold and Platinum members would receive benefits such as late check out, complimentary internet and enhanced room when staying at SPG properties
Starwood registered the Your World Rewards trademark on October 1, 2014.
Interesting that SPG is seeking more partnerships with the airlines. Emirates is quite obvious choice considering the number of destinations the airlines flies to.
We should probably learn more about this “Your World Rewards” partnership later today.
