Hyatt Gold Passport is again running their year-end Gift Card and Check Certificates sale where buyers can shave 10% off of the face value of these instruments.
The offer is valid for purchases made until December 31, 2014, and you must use promotional code GPGIFT14 at the time of placing the order to receive the discount.
You can access Hyatt’s web page for buying gift cards and check certificates here.
Note that Hyatt gift cards (both electronic and physical) are only accepted at locations in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. Hyatt check certificates are accepted worldwide.
Hyatt properties in countries that don’t use USD as their currency may find that they are not saving 10% off of the bill because the property may not use the real exchange rate to convert the local currency to the USD.
The 10% discount applies to both gift cards and check certificates:
This is a great way to save an additional 10% off of your Hyatt bills when you book a non-prepaid rate. Cash is always king, so I would only purchase gift cards for the value that I certainly would use in the next 6 months.
Hyatt is planning to extend the acceptable of gift cards worldwide in 2015 and phase out the check certificates. May be Hyatt can then ensure that the properties are using exchange rates provides Hyatt to process the gift cards instead of fictional rates used by some properties?
