On November 28, I wrote about (access here) Le Club Accorhotels British Airways, Delta and Avios promotions that they had decided to expire.
Now, a LoyaltyLobby reader sent me a link to a thread on FlyerTalk (access here) where Accor representative makes the following statement:
I have just spoken to the Club Accor Team and: no panic, I repeat no panic
The Accor site experience quite a severe technical bug a few days ago which resulted in the glitch on the British Airways offer page saying it was expired.
So far we know that 3 deals were affected for a few days by the technical bug:
– The Avios / British Airways promotion
– A Delta Airlines promotion
– A third deal I am waiting for details on.
The site is up and running at 100% now and all of the deals are available once again!
If any of you have any questions or concerns I am available via private message!
I just read few of this Amy’s posts and my educated guess is that she is working for an outside communications agency that does social listening on Accor’s behalf, but doesn’t really know anything about the promotions that the company runs.
Should we really believe that this was just a “technical bug” that resulted in a “glitch” that showed all these three separate airline promotions expired. Seems that this same bug or glitch happened with that Air Canada Aeroplan promotion too.
It is certainly good that these offers have been reinstated, although the web pages still shows them as expired.
I really hope that Accor would get its act together with Le Club Accorhotels, so that there wouldn’t be a need for us to second guess whether a promotional that they launch is really going to run its course or if it is “retired” early.
