Hilton has an excellent 20% off MVP discount rate program for stays in the Americas (includes United States, Canada, and Latin America), Hawaii and the Caribbean.
The discount is taken off of the Best Available Rate and, when available, it usually beats AAA and AARP rates. Even corporate rates tend to be higher on the weekends when the headline rates are lower and this MVP knocks off an additional 20%.
You can access Hilton’s web page for this discount stay program here.
I have written about this discount program several times in the past, but Hilton has now changed the MVP website and made the rates easier to search and compare against other ones including awards.
Who is eligible to use MVP rate?
The rate rules only require you to have a Hilton HHonors account. There are no other restrictions.
The MVP rate is not usually prepaid and allows cancellation day before of the scheduled arrival time. Do check the rate rules of each of the property.
Hotels can choose when to offer this rate and thus it is not always available.
Eligibility for points and stay/night credit?
This rate is a qualifying rate for Hilton HHonors points and stay/night credits. It has never been on the excluded rates list for bonus points offers.
Remember to sign up for all Hilton HHonors promotions and special offers that are listed here: Hilton HHonors Points & Rates Promotions.
Hilton HHonors Gold Status MVP Fast Track:
Hilton also has an offer for Gold status in just 4 stays within 90 days of signing up for this MVP specific offer. You can read more about it here.
Here are some rate displays for a Friday night in January:
Hilton Hawaiian Village
Hilton Checkers Los Angeles Downtown
DoubleTree Suites New York Times Square
Hilton New Orleans Riverside
Bahia Mar For Lauderdale Beach – DoubleTree Hotels
Hilton Garden Inn Toronto Downtown
Caribe Hilton Condado Lagoon Villas
Hilton Mexico City Reforma
This is an excellent discount program from Hilton that doesn’t require you to fiddle with corporate codes. It usually beats other discount rates such as AAA or AARP when the availability exists.
I like the fact that it is not usually prepaid and is cancelable as well.
If you haven’t checked Hilton pricing using this MVP program, you definitely should (as you are likely to save some big bucks).
Also, if you don’t have a status with Hilton HHonors yet, the offer of getting Gold with just 4 stays within 90 days is an excellent one. If you sign up and complete it in 2015, the status should be valid until early 2017.
