Last week, I took an Etihad flight from Abu Dhabi to Bangkok (originally was ticketed to Jakarta) and, although the delay was nowhere as bad as some endured last week, the flight was late leaving by a couple of hours.
I decided to check out the internet connection after disastrous WiFi service on Qatar Airways a few weeks prior and so-so connectivity with Emirates last year.
The pricing options on mobile and laptop were identical. My flight was scheduled for 6 hours, so I decided to purchase the 4 hour option.

I tried signing up for the service on my phone and the system kept timing out. After few tries, I checked using my laptop only to find out that one of the earlier timed out sign-ups had actually been successful.

The service was far better than what I had on my Qatar Airways flight in December where the internet for the most part was completely unusable despite paying for the service.
The internet on Etihad worked throughout the flight, although I was napping in the middle, and I got some emails done. The only problem that I had was during signing up and paying for the service when it kept timing out.
I would not hesitate to purchase (and certainly will) the service for my future Etihad flights that I have coming up in the next few months.
