American Airlines has again extended targeted complimentary Gold and Platinum (and maybe even EXP) status to some and then fast track offer to keep it through February 2016.

There is also a separate offer for Gold, Platinum or Executive Platinum status after flying certain number of miles by May 15 and then keep it through February 2016.

Both offers are valid for travel on American Airlines and US Airways including the express carriers + British Airways, Iberia, Finnair, JAL and Qantas.

American Airlines was very aggressive for poaching elite fliers from both United and Delta for the past couple of years. They have been bit quieter as of late, however.

AAdvantage Gold status received through this offer is valid through February 29, 2016. Upon reaching the required AAdvantage elite-qualifying miles or points threshold, your AAdvantage Gold status benefits will be extended immediately. Your new membership credentials will be mailed to you within four to six weeks after qualification. Qualification for the extension of your elite status membership applies to elite-qualifying miles or points earned on eligible, purchased, published fare tickets on select airlines between registration date and May 15, 2015.
