The human stupidity and urge to throw away your trash regardless where you are never ceases to amaze me.

Last week, I was in Phuket with some friends and we decided to go to Phi Phi island for a couple of nights and stay at the Holiday Inn Resort there (that actually turned out to be quite nice).

But what’s up with the tourists and probably some locals too that makes them want to throw their trash on the beach?

A few years ago, I was in Fiji and saw empty Fiji plastic water bottles floating on the sea. Very sad.

How difficult would it be for everyone to take their trash with them and properly dispose of it? All this trash on Phi Phi island was really off-putting.

When I was eating dinner at one of the restaurants by the beach near the Holiday Inn, they had a nice reminder on the menu how long it takes for various materials to dissolve in nature. It was really an eye opener.
