Hyatt Gold Passport updated the terms and conditions governing the program effective November 2014, although they were not updated on Hyatt.com (not really a surprise considering their IT and poor management) before February 10, 2015.
The changes are not drastic. They rather clarify the partnership with Mlife and where suite upgrade usage.
You can access Hyatt’s web page for the terms and conditions of the Gold Passport here.
Hyatt Gold Passport Account Inactivity
Hyatt Gold Passport now consider accounts that have not had any activity for 24 months to be in active.
Points + Cash
Hyatt has now included the fact that Points + Cash awards are eligible night to their Terms and conditions as well.
Points For Walk-ins
Hyatt has not removed the term that state that you would not earn points for walk in reservations )ridiculous in the first place).
Mlife & Planner Rewards On Government Meetings
You don’t earn points for charges at Mlife resorts unless you are a registered guest. Also, you cannot earn meeting planner rewards on government meetings.
Mlife Tier Credits & Planner Rewards
Meetings at Mlife resorts are not eligible or the planner rewards. Also, you cannot get Mlife tier credits for stays at Grand Hyatt Macau or Hyatt Residence Club.
Zilara & Ziva (Double Occupancy ONLY!)
The awards are Zilara and Ziva properties are based on double occupancy. You may have to pay extra for any additional guest.
Suite Upgrade Awards
Hyatt clarifies here that these are only applicable to “introductory” suite category (read trash).
Points + Cash Awards
Are not available at Ziva, Zilara or Mlire properties.
Clarification that room nights are not eligible when they are put to Master Account.
Suite Night Awards Excluded Properties
There are number of properties that are excluded from Diamond member suite upgrades and suit eupgrade awards.
Nothing too surprising here beyond that it took Hyatt two months to post these on their website after they were supposed to take effect. Well. Not surprising considering that it is Hyatt….
