Marriott Rewards has been offering lifetime Silver, Gold and Platinum statuses for a while changing the qualification requirements few times along the way.
Marriott actually lowered the lifetime status requirements last time they tinkered with the requirements back in 2013 (read more here).
You can access Marriott’s page for the lifetime requirements here.
Current Silver, Gold and Platinum Status Requirements
Marriott doesn’t have any minimum years as a member or at a certain status level requirements. Your lifetime status is entirely dependent of the number points and qualified nights that you have earned.
You should note that all the points earned regardless of the channel are counted towards your lifetime balance.
Points earned by staying at hotels, bonus points, compensation points, purchased points and points earned using Marriott affiliated credit cards all count towards the lifetime points count.
Same applies for qualified nights too. Elite nights, rollover nights, meeting rewards nights, and the nights that you earn based on the spend using Marriott affiliated credit cards all count.
Finding Your Number Of Nights & Points Counts On Marriott’s Website
Marriott certainly hasn’t made it easy to find the number of nights and points that you have earned during your program membership.
You firs must log into your Marriott Rewards account and choose “My Account Overview”. Then you must click the “2015 Nights Detail”.
It opens up a lightbox that shows up your night count for the current membership year with the lifetime total nights and points earned.
Previous Lifetime Status Requirements
For comparison purposes, you can see the lowered qualification thresholds since the 2013 change.
The Marriott Rewards lifetime Silver, Gold and Platinum requirements may first appears to be quite difficult.
Considering, however, that all the nights and points earned, regardless of how, count towards the lifetime status, it is not that hard if you have few years of hitting the Marriott beds hard.
Right now, I am 200 nights and 160K points short of the lifetime Platinum status. I probably should schedule few meetings that earn 10 elite qualifying nights each just to get it done. It wouldn’t surprise me if Marriott would again tinker with the requirements at some point in time.
