Two weeks ago, I wrote (access here) about a situation where quite a few Hilton HHonors members were after Hilton Papagayo Resort & Spa got reflagged and soon closed for several months for extensive renovations.
Often the new owner and/or operator accept paid and award reservations after the reflag but that is not always the case. The problem here was even more problematic because the resort was closing for several months.
A LoyaltyLobby reader, who originally contacted me, sent me the following update:
First I just want to say thank you for your posting of my question regarding what to do about existing reward stays at the Hilton Papagayo which has been sold. I received an email today from Hilton from a member of the Relocation Assistance Team informing us that AM Resorts has agreed to accept existing rewards stays at their Dreams Las Mareas Resort. This resort looks to be quite nice also so it looks as though our problems are solved. This has despite about a week of uncertainty regarding what I would be able to do about my honeymoon plans restored my faith in Hilton to take care of their guests.

I am glad that we have a happy ending here and that the guests, who cannot stay at this property once it is closed, are being relocated to other property operated by AM Resorts.
