A LoyaltyLobby reader sent me a questions/note about Club lounge access for Hilton HHonors Gold members.
You can access Hilton’s web page for Gold benefits here.
Here’s the email:
Am staying at the Hilton Milan now. I was told I can’t access the lounge as the Hilton supposedly has made changes (I didn’t get any notification from hilton honors).
Only diamonds gets access or gold members that either booked an executive room or got upgraded to one.
I stayed at the Hilton Wembley a couple of weeks ago and had access to the lounge – I stayed at the Hilton queen Sheba in Eilat in Israel on points and was given access to the lounge. Without an executive room.
There is nothing that would prevent the hotel offering more than what is the minimum standard set by the loyalty program/brand.
The hotel can, however, refuse the lounge access from Gold members that are not staying at executive floor per the T&Cs.
When I was making my way back to HH Diamond last year, I didn’t encounter a single instance in Asia and Latin America where the property wouldn’t have upgraded and/or given lounge access.
I would think that this is more market specific. There are probably more Gold members in the North America and Europe compared to other markets and the lounges can get rather full at times.
I would like to hear from readers where they haven’t received lounge access being a Hilton HHonors Gold member (besides Rome Cavalieri).
Hilton HHonors Gold status is very easy to get (credit card or fast track) and comes with good benefits (lounge access and/or breakfast).
