Airberlin Topbonus & Jet Airways JetPrivilege members have now access to reciprocal benefits that started on June 1, 2015.
Both of these airlines are partly owned by Etihad Airways that controls their frequent flier programs separately.
You can access Airberlin’s web page for Jet Airways partnership here.
Airberlin Topbonus members are eligible to earn double miles on all jet Airways flights between June 2 – August 15, 2015, that are ticketed between June 2 – 30.
Just to note here that the lounge access is limited to the following locations:
Just present your valid Jet Airways ticket and your topbonus Gold or Platinum Card and enjoy the benefits of the following lounges: Carnations Lounge and Mumbai Airport Lounge Services MALS Lounge in Mumbai (BOM), Premium Plaza (located in the domestic terminal) und Premium Plaza (located in the international terminal) in Delhi (DEL), Al Dhabi and Etihad Business Class Lounge in Abu Dhabi (AUH), Jet Airways Lounge in Brussels (BRU).
It is rather surprising that these airlines which Etihad Airways has heavy ownership interest have not previously been partners on the frequent flier side.
Now that these frequent flier programs itself are straight/majority owned/controlled by Etihad there is little stopping to make the experience better for fliers and to introduce reciprocal elite benefits.
