Hilton HHonors decided to extend its Double Your HHonors promotion past its original expiry date of May 31 to August 31, 2015. Seems that someone forgot to tell this person doing the posting programming.
A LoyaltyLobby reader alerted me and I can now confirm this personally that the stays after May 31, 2015, are not posting correctly with double points for those that chose this option. I am not sure if this affect double miles postings as well.
You can access Hilton’s web page for this promotion here.
Here’s my posting from a Hilton stay (currently pending) that doesn’t have the double points posted:
I did send a note to Hilton’s spokesperson regarding this over the weekend, but haven’t received their reply yet.
The Hilton’s Diamond desk was very fast at sending a reply after I inquired where my double points are:
Thank you for your inquiry regarding your stay. We appreciate you taking the time to contact us.
Due to the extension of this promotion, please allow 6 to 8 weeks after checkout for the points to post.
If there is anything else we can assist you with, please do not hesitate to contact us. For immediate assistance, please click on the link below for the contact number of the Hilton Worldwide Service Center location nearest you.
One would think that extending a promotion and including all the hotels from June 1st onwards would be a simple programming task, but apparently not. I have no doubt that these points wouldn’t post at some point and I don’t need them urgently. This may affect those that are close to an award and count the points coming in on time.
