FAKE OR REAL: DHL Sending Out Emails On Etihad’s Behalf?

A LoyaltyLobby reader sent me first a screenshot of an email he had received from DHL requesting his Etihad Guest account info and I asked him to forward me the entire email.

Etihad Guest New Card Email Fake Or Real

There are lot of phishing attempts going on nowadays when you can drain an entire loyalty program account to gift cards and merchandiser in just few clicks.

You can access Etihad’s web page for Silver, Gold & Platinum benefits here.

To my surprise, I really do believe after inspecting the email with headers that it is a legit. There are no fraudulent links to third party sites or anything else susceptible.

Also, Etihad has informed that they will send out the new cards out sometime in early July.

Why on earth Etihad would use DHL to send emails such on their behalf that are not even addressed to a person but rather to just “Your Etihad Guest Card Is Ready”?

This is exactly the type of email that those phishing for your account details would be sending out. Etihad and DHL really both should know better.
