Hilton HHonors has launched new up to 75% bonus for buying points until October 5, 2015.
Hilton used to have (in 2014) a yearly cap of 40,000 purchased points but doubled it to 80,000 this year. The cap doesn’t apply for bonus points.
You can access Hilton HHonors points purchase offer here.
The bonus percentage is dependent of the amounts purchased:
1,000 – 9,000 = no bonus
10,000 – 29,000 = 25% bonus
30,000 – 30,000 = 50% bonus
40,000 – 80,000 = 75% bonus
If you buy the maximum number of points, the price of a point purchased under the 75% bonus is 0.57 cents each.
Does it make sense to purchase Hilton HHonors points?
If you use them for very expensive or cheap properties point wise, you can have a deal. Also, some Points + Cash redemptions can be a reasonable offer when the cash rates are through the roof.
Hilton HHonors occasionally sells points at up to 100% bonus. The last sale that recently ended had up to 80% bonus. If you wait, the 100% bonus promotion likely returns at some point.
