Hyatt Gold Passport also updated its program terms and conditions this past Friday (September 25, 2015).

Hyatt Gold Passport Terms & Conditions Update September 25 2015

The changes are not drastic, but the list of hotels where Suite Upgrade Awards can be used is getting longer and longer.

You can access Hyatt Gold Passport T&Cs here.

Here are the changes:

1. No Cash Value

Hyatt has now added the following wording:

7. Hyatt Gold Passport points have no cash value, and Hyatt Gold Passport will not offer compensation of any type for any forfeited or unused Hyatt Gold Passport points.

2. Hyatt Free Night & Upgrade Awards

Hyatt Gold Passport Free Night Awards indicating accommodations in a suite for Hyatt hotels and resorts are only valid for standard suites defined as each participating properties introductory suite category. At Hyatt House hotels Free Night Awards indicating accommodations in a suite are valid for accommodations in the room type category immediately above standard room. Suite upgrade awards are not valid at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort , Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa, Park Hyatt Sydney, Andaz Tokyo, Hyatt Regency Kyoto, Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort, Hyatt Regency Tulsa, Hyatt Regency Wichita, Hyatt Paris Madeleine, Hyatt Herald Square, Hyatt Key West Resort and Spa, Hyatt Manila City of Dreams, Hyatt Santa Barbara, Hyatt Residence Club resorts, Hyatt Place hotels and M life resorts.

I have BOLDED the property has now been added to this exclusion list.

Conclusion

Not major changes this time, although always negative to see properties added to the exclusion list for Suite Upgrade awards. Hyatt hotels don’t get a penny from Hyatt Gold Passport for the redemption of the 4 up to 7 days each suite upgrades that Diamond members receive yearly, so expect the list only to grow.
