Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer sent out a mailer today offering 5000 KrisMiles for customers residing (or at least being registered) in Thailand for a flight in the new Premium Economy Class.
Since we have many readers in Thailand I decided it’s worthwhile to put this out there because 5k is a decent Bonus and the SQ Premium Economy not a bad product at all.
You can access the offer on Singapore Airlines Promotional Landing Page here.
This offer is targeting departures ex Bangkok with ticketing between Oct 1st 2015 – Nov 30th 2015. Travel itself must be completed by 31st March 2016.
The promotion targets members in Thailand and requires a round trip in Premium Economy Class, booked via the SQ website. The 5000 Bonus Miles will subsequently be added to the members account within six weeks after travel is completed.
Destinations eligible for this promotion are:
Auckland, Beijing, Dubai, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, London, Los Angeles, Manchester, Mumbai, Munich, New Delhi, New York, Paris, San Francisco, Seoul, Shanghai, Sydney, Tokyo and Zurich.
A friend flew Premium Economy on SQ recently and was VERY satisfied (and it’s hard to satisfy this guy, believe me).
Singapore Airlines writes about their Premium Economy Class
Experience the new Premium Economy Class with greater seat comfort, more food and beverage options, as well as inflight and on-ground privileges. Each seat has a width ranging between 18.5 and 19.5 inches and offers an eight-inch recline. Complementing this is a sleek 13.3-inch full HD monitor, the largest in its class.
Besides being able to select from a standard menu with three meal choices, customers may also select from the Premium Economy Book the Cook service. Champagne and wines will be offered throughout the flight.
Priority check-in and baggage handling, with baggage allowance of 35kg, will be offered to customers. Members of the KrisFlyer frequent-flyer programme will also receive 10% more miles when they fly in Premium Economy Class.
Premium Economy Booking Class P earns 110% Base Miles on Krisflyer which is decent, most importantly it also permits mileage upgrades into Business Class.
Right now there are some promotional fare available and to be honest, except for flights within Asia I find them pretty reasonable considering these are ‘all in’ fares that include tax and fuel surcharges.
As far as the promotion and the associated fares are concerned, for everything intra Asia and also India I’d rather look for good Business Class fares ex Bangkok rather than fly Premium Economy on SQ.
Australia, Europe and U.S. however seems to be a good deal considering Business Class is expensive nowadays ex Bangkok unless you purchase miles.
This is a good offer for KrisFlyer Members and customers in Thailand. Singapore Airlines has a solid Premium Economy product and while not exactly cheap it appears to be worth the money.
If you can collect another 5k Kris Miles along the way why not. I hope to have the chance of flying this product sometime soon so we can feature a product review here on Loyalty Lobby as well.
