A LoyaltyLobby member sent me a good question the other day via Facebook regarding getting hotel to match their now lower price (previous rate non-refundable & non-cancelable).
You can access the Sofitel Los Angeles – Beverly Hills website here.
Here’s the message from the reader:
Do you know if i can as a Platinum Member from Accor with the Hotel, if i book a Stay 6 Months in Advance with a SALE Rate and now, it is cheaper with the new 40% Sale?
Its the Sofitel in Los Angeles, booked for 700 Dollar from 10-13.01.16, now its 650 USD and with the breakfast. I have this Case in the Past one Time with a Hotel in Dubai and this Property give me the Difference as In-House Credit.
But i think, the Hotel is not committed to do this (Best Rate Guarantee?). Thanks for your friendly Assistance in Advance.
You are right that the hotel is not required to lower the price and this wouldn’t qualify under the Best Rate Guarantee, because it was probably booked some time ago.
As you noticed with your previous case with Dubai, hotels are often very willing to give you the difference as a credit towards incidentals during your stay and this doesn’t only apply for Accor affiliated hotels. It is basically win-win situation for both parties; it doesn’t really cost anything to the hotel and keeps the guest happy.
The hotels nowadays price their rooms almost as dynamically as the airlines. The prices can go up and down entirely based on the demand. It well could have been that the price had gone up, but this time it went down.
Just drop an email to the hotel with a screenshot of their current price and make the request. Let me know how it goes.
You will like the location of this Sofitel hotel in Los Angeles – Beverly Hills. I have been nearby numerous times when living in the area and you will like the Beverly Center. It is also within short driving distance to Santa Monica and Sunset/Hollywood.
