British Airways 40% Avios Discount Select Long-haul Routes From London October 19 – March 20, 2016 (Book October 19 – November 2)

British Airways has launched new award promotion for Executive Club members departing from London Heathrow and Gatwick to select long-haul destinations.

British Airways Executive Club 40 Percent Less October 19 March 20 2016 Book November 2

You can save 40% off of the number of Avios required for economy class redemption for flights between October 19 – Match 20, 2016, that are booked October 19 – November 2.

You can access BA’s web page for this offer here.

Note that the 40% off applies both off peak and regular awards. You are required to pay full taxes and those extremely high nasty fuel surcharges that BA charges on award tickets.

Here are the eligible routes:

I couldn’t get the pricing to work from London likely because my account is currently based in the US. There was a similar promotion from the Americas that required your account address to be in that region.

This may not be a deal considering that it is only available for economy class awards that are usually poor way of using your miles AND because you are required to pay full fuel surcharges when the piece of the oil is 10 year low.

You can probably find paid tickets on some routes close to the same price what BA charges for fees on these economy awards.

This can make sense for one-way ticket that tend to be priced higher and to usually more expensive destinations around the holidays (read Caribbean).

Here are the terms and conditions of this offer:

The required amount of Avios will be reduced by 40% on the selected destinations as stated. The full airline taxes, fees and carrier charges will apply per person, which as of 29 September 2015 are approximately as follows in our economy, World Traveller cabin, for a return journey:
