Avianca, Colombia based airline that has been very active selling LifeMiles as of late, has made couple of tweaks to its Star Alliance award chart.
Surprisingly, the airline has decreased the number of miles required for award travel between North America or Europe and Brazil.
You can access LifeMiles here.
Here are the changes:
The number of miles required for award travel between North America and Brazil now is 30,000/50,000/67,500 compared to 30,000/60,000/70,000 previously.
The number of miles required for award travel between Europe and Brazil now is 45,000/72,500/105,000 compared to 47,500/95,000/114,000.
Avianca LifeMiles used to be a good program to purchase miles and then use those for business or first class travel on Star Alliance airlines before it devalued its award chart (several times).
The airline has been “desperate” selling miles as of late with never ending promotions that always get extended. There must be not be enough takers?
