Hyatt Gold Passport halted status fast tracks earlier this year temporarily, but now they are back (and better than before!).
Hyatt tweeted earlier today that they are offering straight status matches to Diamond status on Twitter that doesn’t require you to have any Hyatt stays and the status is valid until February 2017.
You can access Hyatt’s Tweet about this offer here.
All you have to do is to email them a copy of statement from competing program that shows the status and minimum of one stay.
Please send me a copy of your card membership and a statement showing you stayed one time in the last one year.
If you don’t do Twitter, you can try emailing the required info to email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org.
This is probably a strategic move trying to get some SPG Platinum members switch to Hyatt that may not be too fond of the Marriott Rewards (where the SPG program will eventually fold to).
I have been Hyatt Diamond member now for more than 10 years. It is a sold program, although not as rewarding as in the 2000’s, if you can live with the limited number of properties that Hyatt has worldwide compared to others.
If they are doing full matches (as they did previously), this should also come with four suite upgrades that each can be used for a stay of up to 7 nights expiring on February 2016 and another set of four issued March next year that expire February 2017.
Those that have status in any of the competing programs should jump to this offer, as there is nothing to lose really.
