IHG Rewards Club launched more formalized Dining Rewards in the Asia Pacific last year and now the program has ended for new enrollments and renewals (at least in some countries) effective December 15, 2015.
Dining Rewards program came with one level status upgrade, dining discount & vouchers and a free night awards for stay at any IHG property worldwide.

We would like to inform you that the IHG Dining Rewards program has ceased beginning Dec 15th. Hence, we no longer accept enrollment and renewal. Please know that the last membership will expire 31 December 2016. All memberships expire on the last day of the month prior to the month printed on the membership card.
Further, members will retain their elite membership status until the end of the calendar year when the membership expires. Unused vouchers upon expiration will be forfeited as per the Program’s Terms and Conditions. Members can still use their accommodation and dining and beverage discount benefits through the end of their membership term at participating outlets and hotels. Active members will not lose their Free Night and will be able to use it to book a reservation prior their membership expiration.
Conclusion
Many hotel chains are offering Dining Programs in the Asia-Pacific that comes with free night vouchers, dining coupons and discounts. These make joining no brainer for those that use hotel dining more than couple of times and affordable for locals.
It is surprising that IHG has discontinued the program at least for Australia. Not sure if this also applies for other countries in the region (especially China) where the Dining Rewards is present.
Price in Australia was surprisingly low compared to other places, while hotels there are expensive. Maybe that was the reason.
Poorly executed program by IHG, I joined in July and still don’t have membership pack.
In Australia, IHG is dominated by Accor.
I tried to use the pre-loaded credit at Intcontinental Qingdao,China, which was clearly listed as a participating hotel. Unfortunately, none of the staff at the hotel restaurant seemed to have any kind of knowledge about the membership, itself!! Since no one at therestaurant spoke English, I had to use “IHG Translator” app to solve the problem…After more than fifteen minutes of disputing, the problem was finally resolved. It was very unpleasnt and tiresome experience…I don’t understand why IHG promoted buying the membership that their own employees dont even have any knowldege!!!!
Haven’t received my membership pack since rejoining in November.
