Marriott Rewards has been emailing out Gold fast track offers this week to select members. They may have similar offer for Platinum status as well.
The email that a reader forwarded me, requires 12 nights between now and the end of May to get Gold status upgrade. The registration deadline is on February 29, 2016.
You can access Marriott’s web page for status levels here.
Here’s copy of the email that Marriott had sent out:
There have been similar offers in the past (and likely this year as well knowing Marriott) that give you the status up front for the duration of the fast track. The expiry is then extended if you meet the stay criteria.
You have to note that this offer is based on NIGHTS and nor on STAYS. It is usually easier to fulfill the stay based fast tracks as long as the person is willing to switch hotels nightly and have number of one night stays.
Marriott Rewards Gold and Platinum qualification criteria are high (50/75) nights, but there are many ways to keep them for far less by doing these fast tracks every couple of years or buying back the status using points.
Gold status is very worthwhile for stays outside of North America where club lounges are usually worth a visit and upgrades are more substantial.
