Here’s one of the emails received:

I have a question about the IHG Accelerate programme. How often should I expect them to update my offer status? I stayed away 9 nights in January but currently it is only showing the first of those nights on the 6th Jan, as a qualifying stay on the “track your progress” page. This is the first time they have made all the offers within the accelerate programme achievable for me, so I am keen not to miss out.

Conclusion

All these recent IHG Rewards Club promotions have been plagued with delayed promo tracking that somehow seems to catch up at some point. You would think that they could make the dashboard to update weekly?

I just had a look at my dashboard and it hadn’t tracked the stays that I had in late January, although they have posted to my account.

I have no doubt that IHG Rewards Club will fix the promo tracking issue for this promotion as well. The readers that have messaged me regarding this are not the only one having the issue. It affects everyone.

  1. I had the same issue for stays in mid-January and contacted IHG. They told me that it takes 3-6 weeks for the Accelerate tracker to be updated post-stay.

    • Once the points posted to your IHG account,there’s no need to worry about Accelerate promotion. You have proof stay right there, so just be patient thats all. I have 3 stays in mid January, achieve all the term at once

  2. In general, based on my own experience with IHG Accelerate 2015 & 2016, I found that updating is very very slow. I also talked to CSR a couple of times last year and this year about timeframe. In the end, all stays are well auto-tracked and points are well-deposited without any issue BUT required a lot of patience to see this. OTL… I guess one should wait about “at least” 4 weeks from the date of stay posting in one’s account, (NOT your check-out date) till update of IHG Accelerate dashboard (NOT your IHG account), and prob. need to wait another 2-4 weeks (depending on your luck) till dashboard update is actually reflected in your IHG account (point deposited). Quite long-term process indeed. lol

  3. I’ve had stays over 4 weeks ago that haven’t reflected. I had an issue with one of the hurdles that I achieved, and the call center told me it would count towards the promotion, but wouldn’t show on the tracker “but had let their contacts who run it know it should count,” whatever that means. I’ve hit most of my hurdles, but I’ve had to keep up with them manually to verify. I love IHG promotions, but this makes it frustrating. I have had points deposited from the first two hurdles however so that’s a good sign.

  4. I talked to ihg and they said the time frame can be up to 6 weeks. My stays that have hit this week were for the first week of January. So around week 4-6 you should see it posted.

  5. Thanks for all the replies people, I guess what was concerning me was that the first stay I had (6th Jan) showed on the accelerator dashboard with a few days. I was expecting the others to be the same, but I will have patience as some have suggested. :). I have to say that now I am a Spire member, the actual points accumulation is incredibly quick which is great news.

  6. my original promo had 7 including one for points for a stay in January + a weekend in January + others.
    I did stay a weekend in January and got the credit for the 2 nights, but the stay in January requirement for points has now disappeared, any one else have any requirements that disappeared?
