Hilton HHonors launched unprecedented Diamond status from any other loyalty program until January 11, 2016, the status being valid until March 2017 that LoyaltyLobby has previously covered here, here, here, here and here.
Hilton HHonors has launched a new campaign that is valid through June 30, 2016, where the matched Silver, Gold or Diamond status is valid through March 2018 (essentially two years if you do it now). You can do the match using online form without having to call or email Hilton HHonors.

You need to upload proof of status AND that you had had stays with the program you are matching from.
Acceptable forms of status validation include a screenshot of your current account status or your membership card. Acceptable forms of stay validation include a screenshot of your previous reservations or hotel receipt, redacting any personal information other than your name and membership number. We accept .jpg files only. Please do NOT send us any personal information (including your phone number, address, social security number, date of birth, user name, passwords, or credit card information).
It would be a good time to do the match if you have status with the competing program. The status would be valid through March 2018 (two years).
The fluid situation surrounding the proposed merger with Starwood and Marriott probably originally prompted the match program that ended back in January. Not sure the reason behind extending it now until June 30, 2016.
