Finnair Plus has now launched their version of the bonus offer for transatlantic travel between May 11 – July 21, 2016 (you can access the AA on here).

You can earn up to 50,000 bonus Finnair Plus points for maximum two round-trips on American Airlines, British Airways, Finnair, Iberia and OpenSkies marketed and operated flights.

Here are the eligible fare classes:

  • Finnair marketed flights: Business Class fares booked in C, D, I or J; Full-fare Economy Class fares booked in Y or B; other Economy Class fares booked in H, A, K, L, M, P, V, G, N, O, Q, R, S, T, W or Z.
  • American Airlines marketed flights: First Class or Business Class fares booked in F, A, P, J, R, D or I; Full-fare Economy Class fares booked in Y; other Economy Class fares booked in H, K, M, L, W, V, G, Q, N, O or S.
  • British Airways marketed flights: First Class or Club World (Business Class) fares booked in F, A, J, R, C, D or I; World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy) fares booked in W, E or T; Full-fare World Traveller (Full-fare Economy Class) fares booked in Y or B; other Economy Class fares booked in H, K, L, M, V, G, Q, N, O or S.
  • OpenSkies marketed by British Airways marketed flights: Biz Bed (Business Class) fares booked in J, R, C, D or I; Prem Plus (Premium Economy Class) fares booked in W, E or T; Full-fare Economy Class fares booked in Y or B; other Economy Class fares booked in H, K, L, M, V, G, N, O or S.
  • Iberia operated flights: Business Class fares booked in J, R, C, D or I; Full-fare Economy Class fares booked in Y or B; other Economy Class fares booked in H, K, L, M, V, A, G, N, O, P, Q or S.

Conclusion

This is a good offer for those traveling in business or first class over the Atlantic during the offer period. The AA offer is better considering that Finnair Plus points generally are not as valuable.

Here are the terms and conditions:

Registration period: 11 May–31 July 2016. You must register before your first flight.

Travel period: 11 May–31 July 2016.

Eligible flights: all non-stop flights between Europe and the United States, Canada or Mexico operated by Finnair, American Airlines, British Airways and Iberia. The marketing carrier must also be Finnair, American Airlines, British Airways or Iberia (the ticket must have AY, AA, BA or IB flight number).

Offer applies to:

  • Business Class fares booked in C, D, I or J; Full-fare Economy Class fares booked in Y or B; other Economy Class fares booked in H, A, K, L, M, P, V, G, N, O, Q, R, S, T, W or Z on Finnair marketed flights;
  • First Class or Business Class fares booked in F, A, P, J, R, D or I; Full-fare Economy Class fares booked in Y; other Economy Class fares booked in H, K, M, L, W, V, G, Q, N, O or S on American Airlines marketed flights;
  • First Class or Club World (Business Class) fares booked in F, A, J, R, C, D or I; World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy) fares booked in W, E or T; Full-fare World Traveller (Full-fare Economy Class) fares booked in Y or B; other Economy Class fares booked in H, K, L, M, V, G, Q, N, O or S on British Airways marketed flights;

Only registered Finnair Plus members are eligible for extra points. You must be a Finnair Plus member or join the Finnair Plus program during the registration period in order to earn extra points during the campaign.

Extra points will be calculated and awarded based on the number of round-trips flown in a specific booking class. Trips where outbound and inbound segments are flown in different cabins are not eligible for extra points (for example if outbound flight is flown in Business Class and inbound flight is flown in Economy Class).

Extra points can only be earned for a maximum of 15 round-trips (five round-trips in First or Business Class, five round-trips in Premium Economy or Full Fare Economy Class and five round-trips in other eligible Economy Class).

No-show or cancellation of booking does not qualify for extra points.

Extra points are award points and do not affect your tier point balance.

The promotion does not qualify for extra tier points.
