The price of a Hyatt Gold Passport point purchased under this offer is 1.85 cents each,
Does it make sense to purchase points?
Only if you use them at very expensive Hyatt properties such as the Park Hyatt Maldives or Paris. This could be, however, way to acquire them to be used on Cash + Points awards.
Award rooms with Hyatt are available as long as the standard rooms are available for sale. This means that points are usually good value if there is something going on in the city that brings the rates throughout the roof.
Hyatt Gold Passport does very bad targeting. Why would they email me an offer to purchase points when I have more than a million of them sitting on my account?
