In January we wrote about the plan of MGM Hotels in Las Vegas to start charging Casino and Hotel guests for parking, something that has always been complimentary so far anywhere in Las Vegas.
You can find the article I wrote previously here which contains some information about the initial announcement by MGM in the beginning of this year.
MGM Hotels now finally came clean and sent an email to MLife members to clear up some misconceptions about their parking policy.
So as long as you hold MLife Gold, Platinum and Noir status parking will continue to be complimentary. It is possible to reach a MLife Elite Tier through casino games (gambling) or through a status match if you have a Hyatt Gold Passport Platinum/Diamond status (we wrote about it here).
MGM Hotels in Las Vegas are: Aria, Bellagio, Circus Circus, Delano, Excalibur, Luxor, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, the Mirage, Monte Carlo, New York-New York and Vdara.
I can imagine that MLife as the dominating brand of Casinos & Hotels in Las Vegas only marked the beginning for parking charges and that other casinos will follow suit soon enough. If you haven’t utilized your Hyatt Status yet to obtain a MLife Elite Tier yet you might want to consider it before or during your trip to Las Vegas.
