A LoyaltyLobby reader sent me an email this week regarding combining IHG Rewards Club Share Forever (read more here) and Accelerate (read more here) promotions that overlap for the most of the Summer.
Here’s the email from the reader:
Thanks for all you do to keep us informed of all the travel promos out there.
I just spoke with IHG Rewards Club wanting to switch from Share Forever to Accelerate (since my Share Forever offer was not that great). I was told that registration for the Accelerate Promo will begin May 30. I was also told that simultaneous earning is possible if Registered for both Share Forever and Accelerate. The agent took my rewards number and said she would automatically enroll me on May 30 and I would receive an e-mail confirming the registration.
I hope this information is of use to you.
I forwarded this email to IHG spokesperson who replied back:
For residents who live in North and South America (Canada, US, Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean), the current IHG Rewards Club promotion to take advantage of is called Share Forever, which spans May 1 – September 5. For residents in the rest of the world, there is a promotion called Accelerate, which runs June 1 – August 31. For Miles earners in all countries the promotion is Double Up which runs June 1 – August 31.
IHG Rewards Club members in the Americas who register for Share Forever have the opportunity to earn at least 65,000 bonus points – that’s more than enough for a free night at an IHG hotel anywhere. Additionally, they have the opportunity to share a free night with someone, redeemable at any IHG hotel in the world. Plus, with the launch of IHG Rewards Club new member only pricing, Your Rate, when you register for Share Forever and book direct on IHG.com, you can save and earn even more.
IHG Rewards Club often does have promotions that you can combine and which post to same set of stays. I don’t believe that this is the case for the Share Forever and Accelerate ones, however.
I don’t see an issue combining the Accelerate one with the Book Direct (read more here) campaign as long as you account reside in the eligible areas.
