Spirit Airlines is currently undergoing a system upgrade between 11pm-4am from Tuesday to Wednesday night which will effect both website and airport check-in kiosks.
This means all self check-in options are disabled and passengers have to check in at the airport counter.
Should you have a flight that leaves late tonight Spirit advises to arrive at the airport early to complete check-in procedures.
Spirit has published the following notice today:
We will be upgrading our systems between Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 11 pm ET and Wednesday, June 8, 2016 finishing at approximately 4 am ET. During this upgrade, our website, airport kiosks, and email updates (flight status, check-in, etc.) will be unavailable. Our reservations center will also be unable to access your reservation during this time.
We encourage you to check-in online in advance of this outage for the quickest check-in experience.Due to longer than normal TSA wait times and longer processing times, we encourage passengers to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours prior to departure. For flight status information during this upgrade, we encourage you to visit www.FlightAware.We apologize for the inconvenience.
Depending from what airport you depart the check-in might be a bit hectic if not to say swamped with passengers so you should plan sufficient time. The website already appears to be offline at this time and given what we have seen with system updates at United I always expect the worst. Be prepared!
