A LoyaltyLobby reader dropped me an email about getting his IHG Rewards Club or SPG Platinum status matched with Le Club AccorHotels.
You can access Acco’s web page for Silver, Gold & Platinum benefits here.
Here’s the email from the reader:
I am actually a platinum member for both SPG & IHG, do you think it’s possible for Accor Hotel – Le Club to provide me a matching platinum membership? i am thinking of switching to Accor Hotel as their perks are much better than IHG. Do you know who i can write to in Accor Hotel for this request?
Le Club AccorHotels (or Aclub) used to offer very easy path to Platinum status. You merely needed to sign up using specific link. These matches were discontinued few years ago (and we still receive messages about them daily).
American Express has offered Le Club AccorHotels Platinum status as a benefit for its Platinum card holders in some markets. Amex and Accor has discontinued this in many if not all markets by now as well.
You can still get Le Club AccorHotels Gold status by signing up and paying for ibis Business program (read more here).
Le Club AccorHotels is further changing what counts towards the earned status come January 1, 2017 (read more here). Until the end of this year all the points earned from stays, status and other bonus offers, points transfer from partners are all counting towards the status. Starting from next year only the base points will.
Status with Le Club AccorHotels has and is becoming more worthwhile with the recently enhances benefits and the integration of Raffles, Fairmont, and Swissotel brands into the program perhaps sometime in 2017.
I tend to like full service properties and my Le Club AccorHotels affiliated stays are actually down for the year. Let’s see if I manage to requalify for the Platinum status before the end of the year.
