Rocketmiles has launched a new promotion for United Airlines MileagePlus members that utilize their hotel booking platform for the first time by September 30, 2016.
New members can earn 4,000 bonus MileagePlus miles in addition to the 1,000 to 10,000 miles awarded for each night consumed. The actual stay can happen later than September 30.

Note that hotels booked using third party platforms such as Rocketmiles are not eligible for hotel loyalty program points or stay/night credits. Some hotels may, however, extend any status related benefits.
Rocketmiles seems to have recently lowered the bonus miles offered with the first booking down from the previous 4,000 to 3,000 down to 2,000. This 4,000 bonus miles offer is the best one out there right now.

To be eligible for this promotion, the hotel reservation must be booked via the Rocketmiles website using this promotional link (www.rocketmiles.com/premiermp) by 11:59PM CT on September 30, 2016, and the hotel stay must be completed.
