LoyaltyLobby Turns 5!

It’s difficult to believe, but it has now been 5 years since I started LoyaltyLobby back on September 15th, 2011, with a post about combining two separate Hyatt Gold Passport promotions.

LoyaltyLobby 5

We will probably have a website refresh later this fall and continue to work making the blog email newsletter better for the readers.

The biggest news over the past 12 months has been the Marriott takeover of Starwood that the Chinese regulators still haven’t cleared (expected to clear sometime next month). On the airline program front, American Airlines followed Delta and United by gutting its AAdvantage program for the most by making it revenue based.

The hotel occupancy rates are still sky high, although there is some softness in Greater China. We probably won’t see great promotions back until the next downturn hits.

As has always been the case, you can always drop me an email, send a private message on Facebook or post on the wall, or Tweet us. I try to reply as many messages as I can. Remember to forward me offers that you receive from airline and hotel loyalty programs!

Conclusion

While it would be ceremonious, I am not going to pop open the bubbly tonight here in Liechtenstein (although I am on my way to Oktoberfest in Munich for the weekend) as I had somewhat of “pre-celebration” last Friday in Rio de Janeiro.

Please leave a comment below with what content you would like to see here on LoyaltyLobby that we have not previously covered or not to the extent that you would like. We are always very receptive to feedback from our readers.
