Last week I wrote about the opportunity to match your Frequent Renter Elite Status from AVIS/Hertz to National’s Emerald Club through their ongoing Status Match campaign.
I can already report a positive result as I just received an email that my match has been approved and the status reflects in the account.
As mentioned in my piece last Monday (access here) this promotion came at the right time as I was looking for an alternative to Hertz and decided to give it a try and matched my Hertz Presidents Circle status to National Executive Elite.
On Friday I already received the email confirming the match had been approved.
That turnaround time was rather quick, and I was a bit concerned about the documents I submitted because Hertz doesn’t show the expiration date of the status anywhere, neither on the membership card or the online statement.
National outlined on their landing page (see here) that they require that but I shouldn’t have worried.
The new Executive Elite status reflected in my account this weekend already as well.
I can’t wait to test it once I have the next opportunity. I matched this status mostly for rentals in the U.S., where I went with Hertz for over a decade, but their recent changes disappoint me and it became frustrating to get a proper vehicle from them at LAX.
These status match promotions are a good opportunity to test other waters and to see if the competition offers a better product, especially if you aren’t happy at the moment with your current provider.
I think National handled this status match promo extremely well and efficient as it should be.
