UPDATE: Nordic Choice Club Status Match October 5 – December 5, 2016 (Valid Until 10/2018!)

Last month, I wrote  twice (access here and here) about Nordic Choice Club status match program in Finland that is valid between October 5 – December 5, 2016.

Members from eight competing programs including Club Carlson, Best Western Rewards, IHG Rewards Club and Hilton HHonors can have their current membership year + 1 matched with Nordic Choice Club.

You can access the status match form here in Finnish.

Here are the matched programs:

  • Scandic Hotels (used to be part of Hilton!)
  • Rezidor – Club Carlson
  • Hilton HHonors
  • Sokos
  • First Hotels
  • Best Western
  • IHG Rewards Club
  • Global Hotel Alliance (GHA)

It was unclear from the status match email received how long it would be valid for. I originally wrote that the match would be valid for the current membership year (basically from the 12 months from the date you sign up if you just opened the account) + one additional year.

The membership card was received in Finland yesterday with the current October 2018 expiry date.

As I have pointed out previously, Nordic Choice status may come in handy if one travels in the Norway, Sweden, Denmark and now in Finland as well (they just opened three hotels there) and if matching for other programs in the region.

It is somewhat confusing that Choice has separate program for stays in the Nordic countries due to their franchise agreement. .

Nordic Choice Club Platinum members are eligible for Hertz President’s Circle status match. I will look into this over the weekend and will write an update.
