A LoyaltyLobby reader dropped me an email update about the issue he was having getting Le Club AccorHotels to award 10,000 bonus points.

I am LeClub Gold Member
I was signed up for their 10.000 points for 4 stays bonus. And has followed all directions lines, there is nothing and come after.
I have now had my 4 stay, but now they refuse to give me the bonus points because the hotel during my stay has upgraded me free to a better room (Because I’m a gold member) And when you have been upgraded, do not get bonus pointne manifest.
I feel a bit screwed. But they refuse.
Have you heard of others have had similar experiences

And here’s my reply at the time:
You have to be careful with the Le Club AccorHotels bonus points promotions:
1. Make sure that you are signed up for the promotion
2. Make sure that both the booking and consumed dates are valid
3. Pay the entire stay using cash or card (no partial payments using points/vouchers)
4. Must be Le Club AccorHotels participating hotel (there are now hotels sold on Accor’s website that don’t give any benefits or participate promotions)
Based on the brief message from the reader, I don’t believe that any of these apply. Le Club AccorHotels had an issue last year where online check in somehow changed the booking date to the check in date causing plenty of headaches for those participating to promotions.
I believe that the property in question doesn’t process the upgrades properly and somehow changes the booking date. Upgrades don’t affect bonus points earnings from the promotions.
The reader should escalate this issue with Le Club AccorHotels customer service and hope that someone reading the message or taking to the phone call has some comprehension skills left.
I am glad that the reader was able to resolve the promo posting issue and got the missing 10,000 Le Club AccorHotels points.
As I have posted earlier, Le Club AccorHotels is pretty much the only chain that has very strict booking date requirements on most of their promotions. If a hotel makes a mistake posting the stay to the member’s account, it may lead to a situation where the promo points won’t post at all. You would think that the Le Club AccorHotels customer service would be better equipped to handle these instances by now?
It is unfortunate that members need to go through several email rounds, posting to Le Club AccorHotels Facebook page or even escalate through LoyaltyLobby to get issues resolved.
