Reader Question: How Is Club Carlson Concierge Status Reflected & What Happens To The Nights?

A LoyaltyLobby reader sent me a question regarding Club Carlson program and its highest Concierge level status.

Remember that you can always email me, send a message via Facebook or use Twitter and include photos too. I’ll try to cover Reader Questions & Comments here several times a week.

Here’s email from the reader:

I’m almost at 30 stays this night, meaning that I get the Concierge status. Say I get this level on December 12, what I expect,

do I get the perks from December 13 on? What will happen with my almost 70 eligible nights? Will I loose them?

It depends how fast the property posts the stay to your account that puts the number over the required number of stays or nights over the Concierge level. The program usually updates your status within 24 – 48 hours after this. I have not had Concierge status with Club Carlson so not sure how fast this happens.

Sometimes it can take few days for this information to propagate to the systems used by the properties. If you have stays soon after your status has changed, it makes sense to ask when checking in what is your status that their system indicates and correct if needed.

Stays and nights really don’t mean anything beyond qualifying for status and they are reset at turn of the year anyway. Your stay/night count will continue to raise until December 31 before it turns to zero on January 1.

I have received quite a few hotel and airline status related questions over the past couple of weeks when readers have realized that they are close or bit short of the required nights/stays or miles required. Will tackle these issues over the next few days.
