Marriott Rewards has now had in the past two Tuesdays their Merchandise Holiday Flash Sale and I thought that it would be a good time to see what is the value that is assessed to a point.
Using hotel or airline rewards points for merchandise tends not to get the best value out of them. It is better to use for something, however, than letting them expire (if you cannot use them for hotel nights or flights.
You can access the Marriott Merchandise Flash Sale here.
Here are the products that were on sale Tuesday:
And here are the prices that I found (mainly from Amazon):
Bose QuietComfort 35 50,000 points or $349 (Amazon) = 0.7 cents
Fitbit Charge 2 Heart Rate & Fitness Wristband 22,500 points or $149.88 (Amazon) = 0.67 cents
Dooney & Bourke City Large Barlow 52,500 points or $368 (Zappos) = 0.7 cents
S’well Shimmer Collection Bottle 7,500 points or $46.98 (Amazon) = 0.63 cents
GoPro HERO4 Black 70,000 points or $345 (Amazon) = 0.49 cents
HackedPack Swift Messenger Bag Hammock 17,500 points or $109,99 (Amazon) = 0.63 cents
Nerf Air Defender X Drone Camcopter 20,000 points or (couldn’t find price)
Crock-Pot 6-Qt Smart Slow Cooker with WeMo 22,500 points or $103,99 (Amazon) = 0.46 cents
Seems that the price that Marriott Rewards has assessed to a point during this merchandise flash sale is roughly 0.7 cents per point. I wouldn’t redeem at this value but may suit those that have more points than they know what to do with.
