Air Berlin has been sending out two discount vouchers with a value of US$80 to their Topbonus Members that can be used for flights booked until 28 December 2016, travel until March 31st 2016.
The two vouchers can be used online to offset the base fare of all Air Berlin flights, however not those booked as ‘Light Fares’ which are ineligible.
‘Tis the season again to give small presents and after Lufthansa has also used a voucher promotion to promote the Christmas holidays Air Berlin follows up with personalized discount codes for their customers.
You have to be a Topbonus member who has an active email registered with Air Berlin and signed up for promotional emails in which case you should have received the following mail.
Important are the dates:
Book until 28th December 2016
Fly until 31st of March 2017
The voucher is good for one week so you might be able to decide about a holiday and take advantage of the discount even though it’s certainly not worth to make any hastily decisions just to save a few bucks.
It’s a nice promotion by Air Berlin even if some (or probably most) people won’t be able to use it. Plenty of other companies send no Christmas Greeting at all or if they do that it has no additional value attached to it so I give Air Berlin credit for doing it.
Of course it’s no secret that Air Berlin needs money so each and every voucher promotion is of course designed to stimulate additional bookings. I’d be somewhat hesitant right now to make Air Berlin bookings far in the future even though as long as you pay by credit card you will be able to charge back the payment should the airline (or any other provider) fold and be unable to render services.
These are the Terms & Conditions for the promotion at the time of this article:
Booking period: until 12/28/2016
Travel period: until 03/31/2017
The discount codes are valid on all flights operated by airberlin and can only be used for flight bookings made at airberlin.com/coupon. Combining a discount code with other special deals that are currently on offer (e. g. group or special promotional offers, etc.) or the use of a discount code for bookings made through tour operators or in the Economy Light fare category is not permitted. The value of the discount code can only be offset against the net fare (excluding taxes, fees and fuel surcharge). At least one traveller must be a full fare-paying passenger (adult). For joint bookings for several people, one discount code per passenger must be entered, i.e. the number of discount codes must correspond to the number of travellers per booking. If claiming a child discount, this is calculated based on the reduced adult net fare, after deduction of the discount code value.
