Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) started first surprising members that had visited all their brands during membership year with a free night certificate and later by giving 11,000 bonus Starpoints.

Hilton HHonors Surprise Gift Box Of Chocolates + Free Night Certificate!

Hilton HHonors seems to have decided to join this frenzy and has sent out a box of chocolates and free night certificates to those that had visited 11 Hilton brands over the past three years.

A LoyaltyLobby reader had posted the above pictured on FlyerTalk (used here with a permission).

I sent a note to Hilton about this and received the following reply from the spokesperson:

Hilton HHonors sent holiday chocolate boxes to all members worldwide who had visited 11 brands over the last 3 years (2014 – 2016) to thank them for their loyalty to the entire portfolio. Hilton is always looking for new ways to reward members for their loyalty, so while there are no set plans to make this a yearly offering, they will be looking for ways to thank their members again in the future.

Hilton Brands:

  • Waldorf Astoria
  • Conrad
  • Hilton
  • Canopy
  • Curio
  • DoubleTree
  • Embassy Suites
  • Hilton Garden Inn
  • Hampton Inn
  • Tru
  • Homewood Suites
  • Home2
  • Hilton Grand Vacations

There are total of 13 brands associated with the Hilton HHonors but luck finding a Tru hotel and there is only one Canopy hotel open in Reykjavik.

On top of my head, I have only stayed at six Hilton HHonors brands over the past three years: Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, Hilton, DoubleTree, Embassy Suites and Hampton Inn.

These surprise promotions are always nice (as long as you are on the receiving end). As the Hilton HHonors spokesperson pointed out, there are no plans to make this promotion permanent.
