SPG Uber Starpoints For Rides Table

The number of Starpoints that one earns for Uber rides when not staying at Starwood property is cut by 50% from 1 Starpoint per USD charged to requiring $2 to earn 1 Starpoint. .

I have used Uber quite a lot (more than 600 rides) and don’t mind earning Starpoints for them. Does it make me to choose an Uber? Not Really. I have considered this to be 2% rebate (when not staying at Starwood hotels) that wouldn’t sway me either way to use the service or not.

Not sure why Uber hasn’t launched their own loyalty program? Would be way to incentivize users of their platform. They run quite a few promotions for the drivers based on the discussions I have had during the rides.
