A reader contacted me today saying that Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) confirmed to him that they’re having problems with posting stays from individual properties to member accounts for over a week now.
Usually SPG posts stays to the members account within 24 hours now (often faster) though for the past week or so members are reporting that no stays have hit their account.
I was surprised to hear about this because in the past year or so SPG (as mentioned) has pretty much sped up the posting process and just about every stay I had in the last year posted within 24-36 hours.
Our reader wrote as follows:
just FYI: SPG is having issues posting stays/points now due to an internal issue.
My last two stays still haven’t posted yet. One with checkout on the 16th of February and another one where I checked out at St. Regis Osaka two days ago.
I called them and they told me they have system wide issues which *might* be fixed within the week.
Interesting. I’d imagine this creates quite a backlog and there might also be a lot of stuff that falls between the cracks.We have reached out to SPG in order to get to the bottom of this and see if this is a persistent issue or if the reader was just unlucky with his stays plus got a rogue agent who spread incorrect information.
I haven’t had any personal stays this last week in order to verify this myself, so I hope that our liaison can shine some light onto the matter. If a customer hasn’t received proper credit, I suggest to file a retroactive credit request and see how that works out.
Have you had any SPG stays in the last 7-10 days and experienced posting issues? In any case you should check your account to make sure stays were added properly.
