Singapore Airlines teamed up with TATA to launch an Indian airline called Vistara back in 2013 (read more here). TATA is also involved in the Indian version of AirAsia.
Now, Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Gold members will receive elite status benefits when flying on Vistara flights, and all members can earn elite qualifying miles when flying on SQ codeshares on Vistara-operated flights.

The status benefits are quite straightforward: lounge access in New Delhi, higher checked luggage allowance and priority boarding/check-in/baggage handling.
