Avianca LifeMiles Seats-On-Sale Economy Award Changes April 5, 2017

Avianca LifeMiles is making small changes to its’ Seats-on-Sale economy awards that are only available on Avianca (or affiliate) flights.

These changes will take effect on April 5, 2017. If there is a route that you are planning to redeem and it is going up, you should get your award reservation done before this change.

Conclusion

These changes only affect Avianca economy awards at the Seats-on-Sale level. Star Alliance awards are not changing (at least not now).

I guess that some of these economy awards indeed make sense because fares between some city pairs in Latin America are high due to lack of competition.
