Although Turkey is not part of the European Union, there is a similar law/customer commitment in place as the EC 261/2004.
Readers have sent in several cases that deal with issues with Turkish Airlines especially during wintertime when some snow in Istanbul appears to bring the entire operations down. Just in case the Passenger Rights leaflets have gone “missing” or run out, I have included copy in PDF format below.
The Turkish Airlines Passenger Rights:
The Turkish Airlines Passenger Rights (PDF):
These “Passenger Rights” are modeled after the EC 261/2004 and apply for Turkish Airlines flights worldwide. Not sure where you can find these from the TK’s website though. A reader was kind enough to send a link.
Getting the airlines to comply with EC 261/2004 is already difficult even when there are national enforcement bodies in place. Not sure how difficult it is to get Turkish Airlines to adhere their “Passenger Rights” considering all the issues people have with their customer service or lack thereof.
