Cathay Pacific has changed the number of Asia Miles that its’ members earn for flights taken with American Airlines effective May 1, 2017.
This change means that members traveling in discounted economy will earn up to 75% fewer miles than previously.

Conclusion
This really didn’t come up as a surprise. One could argue that the number of Asia Miles one earned for discounted economy flights on American Airlines was an anomaly.
I just wish that airlines would give proper advance notice about changes just as this. Merely switching the earning chart on one random day is not enough.
