A LoyaltyLobby reader sent me a question by email (positive problem this time!) about how to use Hilton Be My Guest-certificate.
You can access Hilton Honors here.
Here’s the email from the reader:
I won a competition and got 2 Be My Guest certificates as a prize.
I am a member of HHonours and been searching for a hotel where I can book a standard room and not pay in advance, as per the terms. I am really finding it hard to locate good Hilton hotel that doesn’t ask for up front payment on their website. About the only ones I’m finding are for Bed & Breakfast, which I assume the hotel won’t allow me just to pay for the breakfast part on check out? Any hotel suggestions would be appreciated.
Having two Be My Guest certificates is certainly a nice problem to have as these can be used for any Hilton affiliated property worldwide (see any possible limitations).
All you need to do is to make flexible rate reservation for a standard room (preferably as expensive hotel as possible hotel) and hand in the certificates in when checking in. The flexible rate usually is the most expensive one. You need to have credit card on file when making the reservation.
Hilton doesn’t list the rooms on its website on the order from the standard to the highest room. You can figure them out, however, by looking at the point rates.
Conrad Koh Samui:
Hilton’s Guest Assistance usually issues these Be My Guest vouchers for serious issues that guest may have faced for their stays at Hilton affiliated properties. The hotel charges are then later reversed back to the offending property with the intervention fees.
You just should strategically book the most expensive stay you can find as you should earn points and airline miles based on the paid rate (at least I always have).
