Downtown Los Angeles has experienced a hotel boom in recent years. Marriot started with a Ritz Carlton and a JW Marriot at L.A. Live, and then added a Residence Inn and a Courtyard a few years ago. SPG completed major renovations to their Sheraton Grand property. IHG has an Indigo Hotel in the works, and on July 2 the Intercontinental Los Angeles Downtown hotel will open its doors to the public.
The Intercontinental Los Angeles Downtown Hotel is located in Wildshire Grand Tower, a 73-story building property of Korean Air. Yesterday there was a ribbon cutting ceremony with Korean Air executives to inaugurate the building, and we could get a sneak peek of how the hotel looks!
You can access Intercontinental Los Angeles Downtown hotel website here.
The hotel will use most of the tower space, with 900 rooms in floors 31 to 69, check-in lobby and Sky Bar at floor 70, restaurants on floors 71 and 72, and an open-air observation desk and a rooftop pool on floor 73. It will also offer meeting/convention space and a ballroom on floors basement to 7.
My friend Cheri got access to the property yesterday right before the ribbon cutting ceremony, and she could snap some pictures and video of the public areas of the hotel. She was OK with me posting her pictures in the blog, so we can share with you a very first sneak peak of how the hotel looks!
